Blacksheep Espresso reflects Ritu’s commitment to origin development and long-term quality partnerships, bringing together a structured Brazilian Natural base with a refined, high-altitude Vietnamese Arabica.
The foundation of the blend is a rich Brazil Natural, offering chocolate depth, roasted nuts, and a round, syrupy body. Complementing this is our carefully developed Cau Dat Arabica (Lam Dong, Vietnam) grown at 1,400–1,550 meters above sea level, where cooler temperatures and slower cherry maturation enhance sweetness development and acidity complexity.
Vietnamese Arabica Development Project (Since 2019)
Since 2019, Ritu has worked directly with farmers and cooperatives in Cau Dat to improve and stabilize the quality of Vietnamese Arabica through structured, hands-on collaboration.
Our approach includes:

Selective hand-picking to ensure optimal cherry ripeness

Careful sorting at the processing station under producer supervision

Controlled yeast fermentation protocols to refine sweetness and aromatic clarity

Standardized washed processing methods

Monitoring density, moisture, and physical quality parameters

Continuous cupping calibration to maintain consistency across harvests
By working closely with producers at origin — from harvest to post-processing — we focus not only on elevating cup quality, but also on building stability and traceability within Vietnam’s specialty landscape.
